Anyone aged 16 or over living in England, Scotland or Wales can apply for a Busy Bees apprenticeship. There is no upper age limit, so apprenticeships are a great option for school leavers, career changers and those returning to work. Some apprenticeship funding and eligibility requirements are set by local government and may vary depending on where you live and your individual circumstances. We encourage everyone interested to apply, and we'll assess your eligibility as part of the application process.

Many of our Level 2 programmes have no formal entry requirements. Higher levels ask for GCSEs or a relevant qualification, but we'll always help you work towards English and Maths if needed. For the fast-track level 3 early years apprenticeship you must have GCSE English at Grade 4/C or above and GCSE Maths at Grade 4/C or above

Yes. Apprentices are employed and paid at least the apprenticeship minimum wage, and often more. Your training is fully funded, so you leave with a qualification and no debt.

Salaries vary by programme, level and location. Salaries are publicized on each vacancy - your offer letter will also confirm your actual pay.

Start your application online in a few steps. You can save your progress and come back any time before you submit.

You'll gain a nationally recognised qualification at the level of your programme, plus real experience working in a Busy Bees setting.

You'll join a warm, supportive team in a busy nursery, school or kitchen, with a mentor beside you and colleagues who want you to succeed.

Apprentices progress from Level 2 practitioner roles all the way to leadership. Many of our managers started as apprentices themselves.

You'll have a dedicated skills coach, an in-setting mentor and access to wellbeing support throughout your programme.
